Summary
The Cranial Units was a self proclaimed hardcore/emo band that John had started with his two best friends Danny and Sid in their Junior year of high school. John was the main guitarist and lyricist since nobody else really wanted to write. Throughout that year, the band shuffled between drummers but ultimately never found the right fit, at least according to John. He was weirdly picky about who deserved to be in his band no matter how skillful they were. It was then their senior year and the band was determined to get the group up and running at least before everyone went off to college. Danny and Sid decide to introduce a new band member without John's knowledge.

Summary
This is an alternate version of notastumph's Kick Drum Beating in My Chest Again. It is a different take on Prison Break but with Vampires. Patrick is a doctor in a prison and is happily married. One day, a new prisoner comes in named Pete Wentz, who is there to break William Beckett out of prison. Pete arranges for a riot of the prisoners to act as a distraction for his and William's escape plan, but it fails. Afterwards, Patrick feels himself being drawn to Pete and he doesn't know why. When Patrick has to transfer a stabbing patient to the hospital, things go very, very wrong. Patrick is framed for a crime he didn't commit. How will he adjust to life in prison? How will he get out? Will he ever see Pete again?

Despite knowing that Patrick's already seen the bruise, that he's already intimately familiar with all of Pete's little injuries, Pete brings his hand up to cover it. It's a deep, instinctual thing, a kind of post-event defence mechanism. If Pete can just hide the bruise, shield any sign of weakness or injury, then he's built up his defences again.
