She let out another whimper as the light hit her eyes just wrong and searing pain radiated from her temple down her neck and spine. Another shadow joined the first, the nudging turning insistent- pulling at her dress to try to get her back upright. She closed her eyes to the shadows, her last thought being she should take a nap. She would feel better after she took a nap.

Just as Azriel knows Eris is pleased for the way his pulse begins to quicken, right there along the taut veins of his neck, each throbbing rivulet a torchbearer. They hide away beneath the collar of his tunic before Azriel can follow them any further, the spiteful fabric occluding all other traces of his arousal.
But surely they are there, as they have been before: the telltale hardening of his nipples, the pebbling over of his fair skin, the strain tucking itself beneath his tendons.
Azriel rends his gaze away—back to the more noble course.
Shame strikes him, a swift back of the hand across his face, that keeping his attentions to a golden female lowered to her knees feels such. And yet he cannot deny that it does.
That it does not feel all the more wrong to let himself indulge in the sight of divinity, aflame and rotten through.
