Summary
Ivy Porter grew up, lives in, and works in the small town of Janice. She's a waitress at Gus's Diner, and her favorite regular is Esther, an eccentric older woman who always gets the same breakfast - waffles with two sliced strawberries, apple jam syrup on the side, coffee with one sugar and a splash of milk, and hashbrowns with ketchup to finish it off. So when things go ary and Esther disappears, Ivy decides to find out where the woman went and bring her her waffles no matter what.

She comes in every Sunday at 6:30 AM and orders the exact same meal. A creature of habit myself, I already have her order ready and waiting on the pick up counter: A hot coffee, one sugar, splash of milk. Waffles with two strawberries (sliced) and apple jam syrup (homemade) on the side. And then after her main, she orders a plate full of hashbrowns (extra crispy), and ketchup on the side.
But as I've been keeping an eye out, each time the bell above the door rings, I'm expecting Esther. And each time, she hasn't been the one to walk across the threshold...

I know this is a bit different than the style I normally write, but I hope you'll give it a chance and take this journey with Ruby as she and Flip search for a woman who may not be all that she seems...
