Summary
The decision to step in finds Colter Shaw zip-tied in a warehouse under far-from-optimal conditions and Reenie Greene’s name in the mouths of the men trying to break him. The FBI gets him out, but the damage follows him into a Denver ICU, where ventilators, chest tubes, and ugly fevers do their best to finish what Boss Maddox started—and Reenie’s hands in his hair, on his chest, and wrapped around his mangled fingers are the only thing anchoring him to the surface.
As December slides toward Christmas, Colter fights his way through sedation, setbacks, and the kind of vulnerability he’s spent a lifetime avoiding, while Reenie makes him a deal: he doesn’t leave the hospital unless he comes home with her. Bruised, stitched, and stubborn, he’s dropped into the chaos of family holiday dinner and, for the first time in a long time, starts to wonder if “home” might be less about where he parks the Airstream and more about whose hands are on him when the monsters are finally gone.

She takes you in and agrees to help you build a case against your husband to send him to jail, but before the two of you finish, your husband tracks you down and forcibly takes you back. Reenie, needing to do something, calls Colter Shaw for help. Colter tracks you across state lines and out into the wilderness while you fight to escape your husband's grasp, but it seems that for every step that takes him closer to you, you're pulled further and further away.
This is set sometime in Season 2 of Tracker. There may be mild spoilers of Season 2 but not much. This is pre-relationship - you don't even get to meet Colter until like the middle of the story, and by the end you still don't know each other very well. I set it up for a sequel but I can't guarantee that will happen. Hope you enjoy!
