This story was greatly inspired by PonchoFirewalker01's 'Preserving and Reviving the Skull' on DeviantArt. After all, I am a DIE HARD fan of both Peter Jackson's amazing remake of King Kong and Jurassic Park/World, along with Disney's cult classic film, Atlantis: The Lost Empire. Only this time, ALL of the creatures from Skull Island, along with the natives, are going to be rescued by Carl and his team before the island sinks in 1948.

Summary
Jonathan Sims was captured by the capital months ago as bait for Martin Blackwood, the leader of the anarcho-communist faction of the resistance. Then months later the faction was blown up and everyone presumably died. Jon, no longer needed as bait, was made into an unwilling muttation of the capital to be used in interrogation. He's been living a life of despairing hopelessness. Now there's a new prisoner, Peeta Mellark, and Jon feels the urge to protect him because he reminds him of a younger Martin.
Meanwhile Martin (who happened to survive because he was out searching for food during the destruction of the faction) runs into Katniss in the woods. After hearing that Coin hasn't captured Jon in district 13, he and Katniss make a plan to team up together and with Finnick to go to the capital on a rescue mission for Martin, Peeta, and Annie. Katniss was followed by Gale against her knowledge and they are joined by some others along the way.
