As they move, trying to be silent, the floorboards groan loudly beneath their own feet, damned old cabin. The sound echoes in the silent house, and the now alert gunman stops at the bottom of the stairs, ears alerted to their uninvited presence.
"Ah, ah, ah..." He says quietly, his voice holding a low commanding tone, with more youth than any perceived ‘old man’ has any right still holding. A flash of panic lances through the thief, this sounded nothing like the mark they expected, silently they judge from behind the mask if they would be quick enough to escape.

Summary
In which Vash and Wolfwood are reborn in a distant future. One becomes an artist, and the other, a musician.
Vash has been having strange dreams lately. These, coupled with his discovery of Wolfwood’s band, spark inspiration, and he sets his sketchbook ablaze with new art. However, despite his efforts this mysterious character he’s thought up just isn’t coming out right, and leaves him yearning for a muse.
Eye of the Storm is Wolfwood and the twins’ passion project, a band touring the 7 cities, and their next stop? The technologically-advanced city of Octovern, where islands float and trains stretch from one to the next. The electric city sucks him in, and he begins to dream of things long-forgotten.
Gravity draws them to each other, and soon everything changes. There’s been a terrible accident, and when is no one else willing to act, Vash dares to rescue the only other Independent alive.

The rhythm of his breathing gently shifts the slope of his back; big inhales and whuffling exhales that Vash teasingly calls snoring when he wants Wolfwood to get all huffy about it, and a miracle in the hushed moments after the day has ended and all there is to do is fall asleep together, chest to chest. Heartbeat to heartbeat.
That feeling — this sight — the deep-rooted joy it causes — is something Vash got impossibly close to losing. To never experiencing crucial parts of it.
It’s the holiest thing he has.”

Summary
It’s closer to morning than it is to evening now, half past three in the morning, and Wolfwood’s up with his heart racing.
Not a nightmare. Could’ve been a nightmare; sometimes those cause boners too. It’s a thing, like, scientifically. Wolfwood’s pretty sure anyhow. (Of course he’s not sure how it works on a physiological level when you share Wolfwood’s “composition”, so to speak, but it doesn’t matter. He’s aching something awful between the legs, there’s a stain in his boxers, he’s hard. That’s what he’s called it for years and he sees no reason to quit now.)
A nightmare would’ve been less embarrassing is the point. Wolfwood’s actual dream was a lot more—pleasant, than that, and accordingly, a lot less pleasant to wake up from and see that the bed is empty and cold and there’s a conspicuous absence of Vashes in his house right now. Not that Wolfwood’s checked. The only thing more embarrassing than sitting here and being hard would be waddling around the house looking for his partner to relieve the issue, so he won’t. It’s not even on the table.
But what is on the table?
Peacemaker.
