Jon didn't expect to live through his boyfriend stabbing him in the chest. He expected to die, and for Martin to join him soon after. So why is he waking up at his desk, at the tail end of February in 2016? Martin is with him, so he would be perfectly content to let the miracle be, except for one tiny, miniscule detail. There is a woman in the Archives he doesn't know, and there is something very Wrong about her. For starters, she wasn't there the first time around. She's American, which he definitely would've remembered, and she just feels...off. So much for a fresh start...

His pants were sticky and uncomfortably tight, his suit was rumpled, and there were the unmistakable half-moon imprints of fingernails gouged into his desk. Almost certainly his, given their regular, predictable, human spacing and shape.

This work is somewhat inspired by this fanfic by Deanpala, in which Jon dies at the end of S5 and is sent back into the world of S1 MAG as a moth-monster archivist entity (it's good and quite a bit more fluffy than mine)Series

The first episode of the beloved show, The Paper Chase, would air on September 9th, 1978, and Lee knew where this would end. But he didn't care anymore. There wasn't anything he could do about it anyway. Everyone knew, it seemed. When speaking to them, most sounded concerned or overly cautious, like talking to frightened, aggressive kittens. Otherwise, they were pressed against lockers, whispering about how the pallor slowly drained from their faces and they seemed to withdraw into only observing, observing everything.
But nobody seemed to know why.
And it was better that way.

The Magnus Institute of Art is not a university. It is an artists' collective, with a rotating cast of Resident Artists and the amateurs they've agreed to take on for a year. It is highly prestigious and exclusive, and somehow Martin got in without actually applying.
The Institute is run by famed modern artist Elias Bouchard, who very rarely takes on charges. He's made quite an exception for Jon.
Art can draw out such powerful emotion, after all. It just needs the right guiding hand.
