Summary
Goffredo has loved Aldo all his life. Aldo never loved him back.
When Goffredo learns his lungs are failing, he asks Aldo for one last kindness:
“Pretend you love me—just for the summer. Let me go believing it was true.”
Aldo agrees, thinking it an act of mercy. But as the summer unfolds—between dinners in Rome, lemon trees on the cliffs of Campania, and quiet nights by the sea—Aldo finds himself caught in the very lie he promised to play.
And when autumn comes, he realizes the cruelest part:
his love arrived too late. -

His friend’s next words made the world stop turning.“There has been an attack on the Pope.”

Summary
Thomas Lawrence never comes forward with the simony papers. Joseph Trembley is elected Pope.
Thomas, now stripped of his title of Dean and cast out of the Vatican, finds himself unmoored. Salvation comes in the form of Vincent Benitez, trapped in Rome by papal decree and unable to return to his beloved parish. As the two struggle to find their footing, a slow intimacy begins to bloom between them.
That is, until Vincent falls ill.
As unforeseen revelations begin to rock the very foundation of the Church, the two are unwillingly thrust back into Vatican politics. While Vincent struggles to maintain his sense of self while forced to carry a miracle, Thomas must decide what matters more: his dedication to his faith or the love he feels for Vincent.

Summary
If I were to picture "adapting" Piersanti's Volo Ut Sis series cinematically in my head, I can picture the screenplay.
Selected scenes I "adapt" into screenplay form are likely to be presented out-of-order, but obviously I'll start with "Divine Revelations of Love."
Drafts may be swapped out and revised between chapters.
Recent Chapter: a screenplay-exclusive scene between Cardinal Aldo Bellini and Cardinal Vincent Benitez at the turtle pond.

Summary
In a world where soulmates are marked by divine design, Aldo Bellini knew from childhood that he was not alone. He felt every violent blow and every pang of hunger that never reciprocated, and that overwhelming anger that only grows.
Goffredo Tedesco, the youngest of twelve siblings in a family mired in poverty, has had a phrase etched into his skin in elegant foreign script since he was four years old: "You should be ashamed." He never understood the weight of those words... until the day his soulmate finally spoke them.

Summary
From the moment he first stepped out onto the balcony in St. Peter’s Square as Innocent XIV, Vincent Benítez knew that the days of his papacy were numbered. And yet, when a costly mistake forces him to resign, he doesn’t come prepared for the grief the loss of his office causes him.
Thomas Lawrence naively liked to think that he wouldn’t live to see the end of Innocent’s papacy. He never could have imagined that he, of all people, would be the one responsible for it.
Lost and with their hearts filled with both guilt and unexplored desires, they struggle to navigate the shambles of the life they knew. They find refuge in a place where they least expect it – an old, ramshackle farmhouse in the middle of nowhere, that’s just as desperate for love and forgiveness as them.
Or: The one where Vincent and Thomas get the retirement they both deserve and finally allow themselves to love each other.
