Zelda nodded along with Link’s words. “You’re right. We’ll need to secure the champions and their Divine Beasts. But the guardians… they will need to be dismantled. They hold a greater threat than the beasts. And… there’s the matter of getting my past self to unlock her sacred power.”
“And you unlocked yours when…”
“When I acted in love for you,” she finished, meeting his gaze. “We need to get our past selves to realize their feelings.”
“You’re saying we need to play matchmaker.”
“Yes.”
“For our past selves.”
“Yes.”
He dragged a hand down his face. “We’re doomed.”

Or: Post-TOTK Link and Zelda, happily married, are investigating a series of disappearances when they’re suddenly sent to before the Calamity. They take it upon themselves to save everyone from impending doom, which includes helping their past selves get along. It’s a lot easier said than done. Oh, and more people are disappearing. There’s that too. -

The Yiga Clan has continued to cause problems as its ambition only grows, whilst the Rito revolt under the rule of a warrior with a burning resentment towards the Royal Family. As Hyrule collapses into civil war, a new threat makes itself known in the far north...

Summary
The hallways of gold and white are darkened by the night. Blood curdles, the moon rises high, eerie echoes of heavy footsteps sound in the halls, and the King of Hyrule can feel it creep upon his skin; the feeling of being stalked by a demon. He could feel its malicious eyes on the back of his neck, could hear its breath in his ear, and when Rhoam turned around, it stood there in the form of his son-in-law.
“Ganon? It…it is late.” The King states. The Gerudo King finds himself chuckling from the shadows of the king’s quarters, his eyes now the deepest colour of what Rhoam thought malice might look like had it manifested physically. However, he held no weapon, had made no threat, but it was the mistake of taking a step toward the other that had Rhoam suddenly clearing his throat as if something was lodged within it.
tl;dr: Descendants from 10,000 years ago, rumoured to hold the golden power of the Triforce inadvertently fall into destiny's path whilst trying their best to avoid it; it all started with an arranged marriage and a lie told by two kings.

Link evaded at just the right time. Around him time slowed, and he raised his own sword—hoping to make clean work of this beast.
But amidst the stillness, dread crept up to him. No longer accompanied by the ghosts of the champions, he felt his mortality suddenly weigh on him like the crushing weight of all his and Zelda’s newfound responsibilities. In slow motion he glanced, wide-eyed at the Lynel, whose eyes seemed to glisten with some strange understanding.
And then it spoke.
“Hero of Hyrule, it’s been a while—“
Or, when a kingdom is still haunted by its past, it’s up to Link and Zelda to step up to the task and become Hyrule’s new hope. But paving a way to a brighter tomorrow will prove difficult when a new threat emerges from buried secrets and built-up vengeance. But under no circumstance must Link and Zelda cave under the pressure—for Hyrule’s sake.
