Admittedly, he had done so initially with ulterior motives as she had suspected, but as the pieces of the puzzle were revealed and put together, he found that behind the cold, reserved exterior hides a mangled soul, and he came to the conclusion that his initial judgement of her was wrong. But by the time he recognized his error, it was a realization that occurred too late - when he returned from Dubai only to find her next to death’s door.
It was a consequence that he thought he could never return from.

Sometimes when the world is quiet, you can hear the screams of the dying.
That is the reality Yun Jayu experiences, one that she cannot escape from. It doesn’t matter the time of day, the terror is always lurking, hidden around corners and within the ditches of her mind, ever-ready to pounce and entrap her in its snares, forcing her to relive nightmares in a never-ending vicious cycle. With each passing day, the overwhelming sorrow that has never gone away even with time weighs her down even more, the immense guilt that consumes her from within like acid, eating away at her little by little until nothing is left, until she is an empty shell of a person. It hadn’t mattered then - the decision to replace her organs with artificial ones since it already felt as though she was hollow within.
But then, there was the matter of Woo Chaewoon and his mission that seemed to revolve around her well-being.
