Summary
One of Keith’s least favorite things about being the leader of Voltron is the diplomacy. Fortunately for him Lance excels at it and it’s an easy decision to step aside and allow Lance to secure this alliance with a former long-time ally of the Alteans.
Except that these aliens aren’t actually interested in an alliance.
They’re instead looking for the perfect sacrifice to offer up to save themselves from the “great evil” that speaks and hears and sees all and they’re convinced that Lance is that person.
And now it’s up to Keith to save Lance not just from an impending, violent death, but a life where he’s cut off from all his senses as the aliens in their attempt to purify him eliminate them one by one by one.

Summary
Stranded on the planet Surtur, Keith rescues Lance from Galra's hold on impulse, going against Shiro and Allura's orders and hijacking the Black Lion. With the Galran ship only yards in front of him, he jumps into the wormhole with his Lion and sets off to save Lance, but when the Galra ship shoots down the Black Lion, he ends up stranded on the planet with Lance. The Planet is slowly deteriorating, meaning that they won't survive much longer if they don't find a way out, so they set aside their differences to work together, that's until they realize there isn't much difference in the first place.
"Keith," Lance calls, glancing over at the other, who was seated across the campfire, "Why did you come save me?" Keith's eyes waver suddenly, hands clenching the gray sand from the planet's surface. "T-The others were worried about you." He stutters, purple eyes avoiding eye contact with Lance. The brunet smiled half-heartedly, rubbing his knees with his palms. "Oh, yeah. Stupid question."

This was never supposed to happen. There wasn't even a real mission happening, just a quick meeting and festival on a planet then they all could go back to learning how to be Team Voltron. Of course, the universe couldn't give them that, now Lance was stuck begging for help from Galra officers who weren't even meant to be there.
He just hopes someone manages to make it before something terrible happens.

For once, the paladins of Voltron didn't have another planet to save. Not because their work was done but because some of their lions needed repair.
Now they are going to some planet Coran used to visit, and technically they still are. The only problem is now the entire solar system has changed and everything is different. Instead of a nice vacation spot they are going to visit a planet with crazy readings and new things to discover without the Galra trying to kill them.
There is no way this goes wrong!

As long as Lance can remember he has always been able to see things others can't just like his great-grandmother. She explained to Lance that he was special not just because he came from a line of witches oh no he could see a person's soul dead or alive, and that it was his responsibility to help those who need it while maintaining the balance between the living and dead. Too bad the kids at school thought he was a freak.
Lance was always proud of his gift, but after a terrible incident when he was younger all he's been trying to do is run from them. Lance ran to the Garrison, hoping that being alone in space would make it stop. How wrong he was, Lance wasn't prepared for a 10,000-year-old war and the chaos that it brought to the living and the dead. All Lance wanted was silence, but now not only is he a Paladin of Voltron but now he has to figure out a way to maintain the balance of the universe before the planes between the living and the dead become no existent.

The drought has brought about lack of food and water and people started selling their children, breaking in and stealing everything their poor neighbors have. They broke in and too his family. And looking at the insides of his loved ones Lance did everything in his power to preserve them.
Moving away from his hometown was hard but Lance can now dedicate his life to what he wants - taking care of the death. Although he won't mind some company in the face of a consulting investigator who bursts into the funeral home demanding to be shown dead bodies.

Shiro smiled, a warm and secret smile, reserved for only two people (and no, Lance wasn't creepy, but it was easy to see how close Shiro was to Keith and Pidge, and how little with the others), "I know it wasn't easy for you. You have managed to control your temper very well."
"Control? I may have killed him in my head at least a dozen times. Does it seem to you that I control my temper?"
Lance's heart sank as he heard him say it, and Shiro sighed, "We're lucky you didn't give in to your violent instincts. We don't have time to look for another blue paladin."
"As if it could be difficult to find a replacement. You've heard Allura, the Blue Lion is the friendlier one. We could take a random guy from the space mall and he would pilot it even better!"
(Just when Lance has decided to confess his feelings to Keith, he overhears a conversation between the red paladin and Shiro. But it's okay, he can pretend nothing happened! Too bad they have to go on missions together, and Keith is starting to suspect something.)

Way more than he’d like to admit- not even because he’s embarrassed of missing his “rival,” but because he’s ashamed how much he’s affected.
He had stopped taking depression meds years ago, even before the Garrison, after he’d been so elated as he grew closer to achieving his dream. Too focused on being good enough to be sad.
He’d left his anxiety medication when he’d left Earth, and never looked back. He didn’t even think about it until weeks later, when the excitement had mostly settled.
And he was fine, he was fine (fine enough), until now. Keith was gone. The missions were more serious now. He took things more seriously now.
So he worried, worried, worried so much.
(Keith left for the Blades of Marmora, leaving Lance with deteriorating mental health. He hides how he’s feeling from the team. When Keith returns, he becomes Lance’s lifeline)
